it's -25F in Minnesota today

POEM FOR THIS BITTERLY COLD DAY:
close my mouth, vacant lungs-
teeth still chatter inside-
exhale vapor, frozen and gone-
bones shuddering, boots astride.


I've focused my thesis topic search to 20th century Ecuadorian poets, probably César Dávila Andrade. I like the thought of revolutionary writing and the manner in which these relatively unexplored South American poets treat the "marginalized" in their works...Dávila's social outcry is intriguing.
