What do moths, NASA and the British have in common?

Nothing. But it sounds funny to say out loud.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Shit. I've never looked a moth in the eye before." -Kerry Jo Johnson

VENT #1: i have a very low tolerance for people who have grown up with American English as their native language yet who insist on being faux-sophisticate-of-the-month by blurting things like: "And at University he..." What the hell? At University?

VENT #2: NASA just spent $550 million to send two satellites into space that will allow humans to view the sun from THREE dimensions! Right on! Instead of spending that money to provide educational resources for inner-city kids or to firebomb the bulldozers that raze Brazil's dwindling rainforests, let's watch the sun. That way, then the blazing ball of energy decides to sputter out (many millenia into the future), we'll know it's coming so we can bundle up! My idea: spend the money on world literacy or something. Then let's dance the night away not giving a shit about solar phenomena...maybe we'll freeze to death someday, but at least we'll be surprised. And dancing.

Here's a pair of pics from last night's mass of costumed, militant bicyclists...somewhere on First Ave.
