bird watching, being watched

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is the Andean Condor. Gustavo says they can grow to a wingspan of up to 4m. They don't kill; they just wait until something is already inanimate, then they glide into their majestic circle and descend. The ease with which they soar on the updrafts of the mountains inspires envy to no end, especially from the earthbound like us. This condor was spotted up in the sierras an hour and a half outside of town, and another 1,000m or so up in the hills.
