my fieldwork is being conducted in the province of Tungurahua, named after the volcano (and female spirit within) Mama Tungurahua, who towers over the province. If you find the capital of Ambato in the map below, simply follow the highway to southeast toward Banos, and you'll see the village of Salasaca along that red line, before hitting Pelileo.
