"Hmmmm. Well. I suppose it's because it's the language we brought with us." But, the patriotic restauranteur raises an interesting point. Someone should tell him about "American English".

Maybe we should push for Amerikaans in the classroom, some sexy pidgin talk that would really reflect the brilliance of an amalgam of dialects like south Boston, southside Chicago, some of Fargo's long-Os and West Virginia's comfortable drawl with the relaxed tone of the south.
