high school reunions happen

You know those great friends you made in high school when (much like the social dymanics of a prison) you relied on the protection of your gang or "set" just to stay alive? Well, my posse was in full effect last weekend at the rough & tumble St. Cloud Cathedral High School Class of 1996 get together.

The few true friends we make in those four pivotal years prior to leaving for college are those with whom we tend to stay in touch long before the 10-year rolls around...and onto whom we have already held so tightly (I hopefully they know how much they mean) that the rest of the folks at the reunion simply provide a nice backdrop of fuzz & buzz, superficial conversations, and arbitrary information swapping that will be all but forgotten the following morning. But it's fun, none the less.

I proceeded to drown my curiosities in Guinness, with the Sunday morning headache to prove it. But it was worth regressing to that high school maturity level for another hoorah with my good pal and southside neighbor Stacy (in pic...note her martini is larger than both of our heads combined. Word up.) as well as a good number of deviants who haven't quite shaken their notoriety of a decade prior. Including those individuals responsible, during the last week of senior year, for splicing into the school's intercom system from an abandoned art room in order to pipe Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" throughout the entire campus during study hall.

So, ten years down, many to go.

respect.
